Event Technical Project Manager (CPT)
The Role:
Our project managers are the go-to people who manage critical client expectations and deliverables, and we are looking for candidates who are not only technical but also enjoy working directly with the decision makers to deliver experiences that define success. We are looking for someone with strong internal and external communication skills, along with great organisational and technical skills.
Your primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of the project, from pre-planning to execution to post-show. This will range from organising equipment, crew, and venue requirements to event execution and final invoicing.
Only those with a proven track record of AV, staging and events industry experience will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the successful and profitable execution of projects from creation of the sales proposal to final invoicing and event execution.
- Review upcoming events and help plan crew and equipment needs with your team.
- Direct event technicians in preparing and executing live and virtual events.
- Organise and review show information and materials in advance of event
- Collaborate on event production to continually enhance overall quality of services offered.
- Work closely with the operations manager, other project managers and warehouse manager.
- Build positive working relationships with our clients
- Follow and maintain existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for event management and operational functions.
- Fulfil other duties as assigned to ensure success of all events.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of Audio Visual and staging related work experience
- Experience with rigging for lights and sound
- Experience with power for audiovisual applications
- A minimum of 3 years leadership, supervisory or management experience
- Ability to manage an AV crew onsite to maintain efficiency and maximise resources
- Ability to respond to emergencies and resolve operational issues
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills, politely and promptly responding to all internal and external requests
- Computer proficiency and a good working knowledge of Google Workspace, printers, basic computer interfacing and computer networking
- Must have high attention to detail, excellent organisational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as dictated by business needs
- Own transport
Senior AV Technician (CPT & JHB)
The Role:
The Senior AV Technician is responsible for all AV technology, to include: large LED displays, projectors and screens, audio/video switchers, video conferencing units, and cable management systems.
Further responsibilities include; the maintenance of all AV equipment, sourcing spares and motivating for expanding our AV stock holding
Responsibilities:
- Install AV systems according to systems documentation and industry standards and best-practices.
- Manage and coordinate video aspects during live events, making real-time adjustments as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends related to AV technology.
- Train and mentor junior AV technicians as needed.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and care of all AV equipment.
- Provide feedback to management and co-workers in order to improve system implementations, engineering, and day-to-day workflow
Requirements:
- Min 3 years experience in the corporate/ music industry
- Proven experience with LED systems, streaming and switching
- Ability to work to immovable deadlines
- Valid Driver license
